Ian Wright has made a dig aimed towards Chelsea star N’Golo Kante for his recent performance, admitting he’s one of several players out of form right now.
Pundit Wright suggested that the defensive midfielder was commonly caught out of position in last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at home to Manchester City in the Premier League.
Kante was part of a Blues side that capitulated in the first-half against Man City and Wright claimed he couldn’t get near the opposition, although the same could be said for his teammates.
The 29-year-old has proven in recent years he’s one of the best in the world in the centre of the park, but he’s not quite been influencing games like usual during a time that Chelsea have just one win in their last six league games.
“Chelsea have got a lot of players that are not on form, not playing very well,” Wright said.
“Even seeing N’Golo Kante [against Man City], he was just all over the place. Kante looked like he was confused with where he was meant to be.
“He leads by example by the way he goes around the football pitch, but recently we’re seeing him being pulled out all over the place.”

If Kante’s standards in a Chelsea shirt are anything to go by, then yes, he’s been poor of late.
But the all-action central midfielder is playing in a team that look disorganised on the pitch at times and ultimately manager Frank Lampard needs to find his best starting XI.
The French World Cup has repaid his £30million transfer fee (BBC) several times over, but he remains such a vital figure at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea need Kante at his best by being a defensive screen in front of the back four and he proved earlier in the season with his form that he’s still capable of world-class performances.
