A number of Chelsea supporters on social media have demanded Thomas Tuchel picks Hakim Ziyech for the Aston Villa game at Stamford Bridge tomorrow (5.30pm).

Ziyech has played just eight minutes of Premier League football this season after injuring his shoulder in the Super Cup final.

Aside from the physical damage, the Moroccan’s trajectory also took a pounding.

He had been in fine form leading up to the return of domestic action, which included goals against Tottenham Hotspur and Villarreal.

But the £100,000-a-week (Spotrac) forward was chopped from his mighty perch, an arm in a sling the reward for his hard work.

However, back fit and with others weary from international duty, Chelsea fans feel now is the prime time for Ziyech to make a comeback.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Moment for the Moroccan

Having spent the past fortnight under the watchful eye of Thomas Tuchel at Cobham, Ziyech is in a good position to start the Villa match at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.

Many of his teammates are in need of a rest following their adventures across the continent.

Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Mason Mount were all in action on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Christian Pulisic hobbled off with an ankle problem while representing USA.

Romelu Lukaku ended his Belgium journey early because of a minor issue in his thigh.

Therefore, it seems logical Ziyech should provide fresh legs up front.

But the obvious answer isn’t always the best solution. Not in Tuchel’s mind, anyway.

Chelsea’s coach has yet to fully trust the 28-year-old, using him sporadically last season.

If Ziyech can get a run of games, his talent will surely shine through.
