'I'm told': Reporter shares info about Haaland and Donnarumma after Chelsea links
Fabrizio Romano dented Chelsea’s hopes of signing Erling Haaland by saying the player is content at Borussia Dortmund and has no plans of moving just yet.
Speaking on the Frank Khalid UK YouTube channel, Romano said that the 20-year-old was staying put in Germany for the time being.
“The player (Haaland) is happy at Borussia Dortmund. He has only been there one year, he’s happy. He’s a starter, he’s playing Champions League football,” the journalist said.
“He’s always scoring. He’s happy with the atmosphere around the club.”
Sky Sports suggested that Chelsea were extremely interested in signing Haaland this summer and Dortmund would be tempted to sell if the offer was higher than his current £66m (Sky Sports) release clause.
Romano didn’t believe this was a possibility right now, especially because Haaland’s celebrity agent works in a particular way.
“He has an agent who is a special agent. Mino Raiola is always preparing his big transfers. He’s not casual,” he added.
“He’s always planning for something big. At the moment he’s not planning for Haaland to move next summer.”
Haaland has scored a staggering 21 goals in 19 games for Dortmund this season and remains firmly in the race for the Golden Shoe award.
The Bundesliga club could well be looking to offload one of their other superstar youngsters instead of the Norwegian international.
“Dortmund are planning to sell Jadon Sancho next summer more than Haaland because Haaland has a release cause in 2022,” explained Romano.
“The player is happy and he’s not saying to Raiola ‘I want to leave the club’.”
Chelsea were dealt another transfer blow when Romano clarified that Gianluigi Donnarumma was set to extend his stay at AC Milan.
“On Donnarumma, of course there is an interest because we talking about an amazing goalkeeper. I’m told there are huge chances of him extending his contract with AC Milan. “
“Chelsea are happy with Mendy so there is nothing advanced on this side.”

I guess we will have to be patience before Haaland becomes a true Blue. You certainly can’t blame him for not wanting to leave Dortmund where he literally is the main man.
I’m sure once he sees the light, he’ll know Chelsea is the place to call home.
