Jamie Carragher has given a glowing verdict on “outrageous” Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, who he’s named in his Premier League Team of the Season.
Kante, 30, has been a key player for a Blues team that are third in the league table right now closing in on Champions League qualification.
His side are also in an FA Cup final and Champions League final later this month.
German boss Thomas Tuchel has completely turned around Chelsea’s fortunes since his mid-season appointment, and so many players at Stamford Bridge have turned up their levels.
French World Cup winner Kante looks back to his very best, which is bad news for opponents trying to deal with his energy.
The central midfielder covers every blade of grass with his relentless box-to-box running, and he’s certainly added a bit of extra quality in terms of his offensive output.
Sky Sports pundit Carragher has stated that he’s been the standout individual in the Premier League during the few months Tuchel has been in charge of.
“In midfield I’ve gone for N’Golo Kante, who since Thomas Tuchel has come in has been as good as any player in the league – some of his Champions League performances have been outrageous!” Carragher told Sky Sports.

Chelsea look a totally different animal when Kante is on his A-game.
A lot of people overlook the fact he’s been one of the world’s elite midfielders during the past five to six years, so it’s no surprise to see a massive upturn in results now he’s flourishing.
Tuchel has spoken warmly about Kante during several interviews, and he’s quickly identified him as one of his big figures on the pitch.
