John Terry has delivered a glowing verdict after Chelsea completed a deal to sign Raheem Sterling from Manchester City on Wednesday.
After weeks of speculation in the summer transfer window, Sterling was finally announced as a new Chelsea player.
The Blues confirmed earlier he’s moved to Stamford Bridge on a five-year deal, which is reportedly worth £47.5million.
His exit from Man City comes after seven successful years at the Etihad Stadium, so he arrives at his new club as a four-time Premier League winner.

Chelsea completed Sterling deal
Blues legend John Terry issued the response “what a signing” following Sterling’s transfer today.
“Welcome to Chelsea, Raheem Sterling. What a signing this is. Good luck mate,” Terry wrote on Twitter.
Sterling becomes the first signing of life post-Roman Abramovich, so it’s clearly quite the statement of intent from the new ownership.
The 27-year-old ended up with 17 goals across all competitions last season, which came without him even being a nailed-on starter for Man City. He was recently England’s best player at the European Championship tournament that took place last year, too.
New Chelsea teammate Mason Mount, who’s played alongside regularly him with England, has already shared his excitement about the new signing.

Lofty ambitions
It’s going to reach a stage where fans have big hopes going into the new season, especially if a couple more high-profile faces walk through the Stamford Bridge doors after Sterling.
There’s no doubt the current group is major talented. However, there was still a distance last year to their main rivals when you factor in it’s a 38-game league season.
For certain, any star attracting interest from the Blues will take note a player of Sterling’s calibre has joined right now.
