Jose Mourinho has commented on a tactical change from Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has commented on a tactical change from Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel since he took charge at Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel has picked up seven points from his first three Premier League games since he became the new Chelsea manager.
His side beat Spurs 1-0 on Thursday night away from home and are up to sixth in the league table.
Ex-Blues manager Mourinho was in the opposite dugout to Tuchel last night and he’s spoken about a tactical change from the Chelsea head coach.
Mourinho commented on how Chelsea have switched to a back three and explained it was difficult to play against.
Former Blues boss Frank Lampard was flexible with his systems during his 18 months in charge, but new Blues manager Tuchel has deployed the system of a back three with wing-backs during his opening matches at the helm.
“They played the way they played. They opened the two wing-backs, they brought Azpilicueta on the right quite wide. This is a dynamic that they have from previous seasons. They are very comfortable going back to that and it was not easy for us to control it,” Mourinho said post-match.

Chelsea fans will remember the 3-4-3 formation that worked so well for them in the 2016/17 season, as it was the system under Antonio Conte that saw them win the league title.
The early signs under Tuchel are that he views the same formation the best way to get the best out of the current Chelsea squad.
There are so many talented attackers that have to make do with a spot on the bench in this formation, but right now nobody can moan with the improvement in results.
