Kenedy Permanently, Delac to Depart, and Kante Eyed
Newcastle are set to make an offer to turn Kenedy’s loan spell into a permanent one, according to reports. The Brazilian has impressed since making the temporary move to St James’ Park, and scored twice in their win over Southampton at the weekend. Chelsea rejected Newcastle’s request to include a future option to buy Kenedy when negotiating in January, so the Blues could keep him in the future. However, it is expected that the 22-year-old’s future is dependant on whether Antonio Conte is in charge next season.
Delac to Depart
Chelsea’s longest-serving player, Matej Delac, is set to depart the club at the end of the season. Delac joined Chelsea in 2009, and is yet to make a first-team appearance for the club, and has been loaned out a number of times. Due to work permit issues, the goalkeeper has never been able to play for Chelsea. His contract runs out this summer, and he is on the lookout for a new club.
“Yes, soon will come a time I’ll have to leave Chelsea.
“Many people ask me do I regret coming to Chelsea so young, and not joining some smaller club, but I feel no regret.
“Your career can always be better, but I am 25 and have been through so much, met many coaches, players, gained experience.
“The problem was not my quality, Chelsea believed in me, extended my contract several times, but the problem was always work permit.”
N’Golo Kante is set to be PSG’s first choice transfer target this summer, recent reports have suggested. The Parisian side have reportedly drawn up a list to replace Thiago Motta in the summer, and Kante is at the top. However, despite the interest from the French side, it is claimed that Kante is not interested in a return to Ligue 1 and is currently happy at Stamford Bridge. Despite PSG’s interest, Chelsea have no intention of selling.
