Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that Christian Pulisic could miss the first few weeks of the Premier League new season due to hamstring injury.
Lampard will be glad that he will have both N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek available for tomorrow’s game against Bayern Munich.
However, he also delivered some bad news regarding the three players who suffered injuries in last week’s FA Cup final against Arsenal.
Pulisic and Cesar Azpilicueta who had hamstring problems will be out for six and three weeks, respectively, while Pedro Rodriguez who has undergone shoulder surgery is also out for the rest of the season.
This, Pulisic’s absence in particular, could pose some problems for Chelsea who certainly want to be at their best for the start to the new season on September 12.
Lampard, however, insisted that they will not rush Pulisic and potentially risk further injuries.

He told in today’s press conference (via Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella): “We will get him fit and ready.
“If he misses the first one or two games, then we can wait for a firing Christian like he was from the restart.”
Pulisic has been one of the best performers at Chelsea since the restart, netting five times and provided two assists in his last 11 appearances.
