'Love him already': Chelsea fans excited by Thomas Tuchel's reported plan

Chelsea fans were over the moon to learn that Thomas Tuchel views Mason Mount, Reece James, and Tammy Abraham as key to his Chelsea revolution.

The Daily Mail reported the story, just a few hours after Tuchel took his very first training session as Chelsea manager.

The 47-year-old has been afforded virtually no time with the squad before they are due to host Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge this evening.

However, the energy that is being emitted from Cobham sounds positive, especially from the standpoint of those academy players who were so vital to the Frank Lampard culture at Chelsea.

And the best way to capture a supporter’s heart is by endorsing one of their own, which is exactly what Tuchel is apparently leaning towards.

Not only was Tuchel’s admittance of admiration for the English trio an encouraging one, many on social media thought this was the very best outcome for Mount, James and Abraham.

Some feared that the homegrown British talent would not get a chance under the new regime. They thought senior players like Antonio Rudiger and Jorginho were to be reinstated as the academy products faded into the shadows.

There was even talk of Billy Gilmour being sent out on loan (via Football.london). This was one of the final concerns of Lampard’s tenure and one that Chelsea will hope to refute.

Several on social media did also notice that one standout name was left off Tuchel’s list.

Callum Hudson-Odoi’s exclusion shouldn’t be too much of a concern. The Guardian recently stated that Tuchel was a ‘fan’ of the 20-year-old and that he sees him as vital to Chelsea’s attacking unit.

We will witness in full what Tuchel has in store for Chelsea when they host Wolves in the capital later today.

What a way to make yourself instantly popular. It’s fantastic to hear Tuchel is tapping into the philosophy that Lampard laid bare.

Not only that, I actually think the aforementioned three are Chelsea’s top picks in their particularly positions. Abraham is our most inform striker, Mount is arguably our best player and James is clearly ahead of Cesar Azpilicueta at right back.

Tuchel needs to continue the project that Lampard was unable to complete by building his team around this core.
