Chelsea have released the new home kit for the 2021/22 season ahead of the FA Cup final — and Mason Mount has had his say about its “eye-catching” design.
The new home kit primarily features the blue colour with hints of yellow cutting down the sidetape and the Nike logo.
Most attention will certainly be on its unusual a zigzag and chequered pattern design, however.
Nike claimed that it is “inspired by the abstract, kaleidoscopic designs of optical art”.
The print also continues onto the shorts, while the socks will feature a sleek yellow and blue trim.
Mount, who also featured in the kit release video, seems to like the unique design.
“This jersey is the most eye-catching yet and is so unique from the others I’ve worn,” Mount told Nike’s official website.
“I think it’ll be a big hit with Blues across the globe.
“I feel like the kit really represents this younger generation rising up the ranks and I love the sustainability behind it.”
Nike also confirmed that the men’s team will wear the new home kit for the first time FA Cup final on Saturday. Meanwhile, the women’s team will wear it one day later, on Sunday, in the Women’s Champions League final.
