Mount picks £150m rated Chelsea target and one Blues icon in his dream five aside lineup

Mason Mount detailed his fantasy five aside team, which included Chelsea past, present, and possible future in Harry Kane.

Speaking to the official England YouTube channel, Mount was asked to select his dream quintet of stars.

Chelsea’s midfielder opted to choose those he’s featured alongside, rather than delve into the depths of footballing folk law.

So many names to chose from

At the tender age of 22, Mount has played with some serious talent across his relatively short career.

Thomas Tuchel’s Champions League winning squad is littered with household names.

Frank Lampard’s group pre and post-summer transfer window wasn’t half bad either.

He can also call upon his England teammates, which is full of Premier League sensations.

However, Mount opted for two of his current club colleges, to go alongside a Chelsea legend and a pair of his Three Lions comrades.

Mount said: “I’m going to go Ashley Cole. Then Harry Kane up top. Midfield, N’Golo Kante. Christian Pulisic. Then Grealo (Jack Grealish).”

Fantastic five

Some may forget that Cole and Mount shared a pitch together for half a season at Derby County in 2018/19.

Kante and Pulisic have been on board at Chelsea since the young maestro broke through under Lampard.

Kane and Grealish are both part of Gareth Southgate’s European Championship set up.

England’s £150m (Telegraph) rated captain has been earmarked as a potential transfer target by the Blues.

Kane’s Tottenham Hotspur future remains uncertain after he voiced his desire to win trophies before his career peters out.

Chelsea are in the market for a new centre-forward and there a few better in the business than the Spurs striker.

It’s got goals, skills and Kante; what’s not to like.
