It is looking like Olivier Giroud’s time at Chelsea is coming to an end. After a disappointing display against West Ham, The Sun is reporting that the club are now willing to listen to offers for the French striker. Giroud has provided some great moments during his time in Blue – here are three of the best.

Giroud’s solo goal in the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton will live long in the memory of Chelsea fans.

After picking the ball up from Eden Hazard, the French striker jinked his way past two Southampton defenders in a crowded area before delightfully stabbing the ball home. It opened the scoring for the Blues and sent them to the FA Cup final.

They went on to win the competition that year, and this goal was a certain highlight of the campaign.

The 33-year-old was a different animal in Chelsea’s Europa League campaign last season. In 14 matches, Giroud scored 11 goals and provided five assists. He was arguably the player of the entire tournament and Chelsea would not have won it without him.

His Europa League exploits included a hat-trick in the last-16 tie with Dynamo Kyiv, and a goal in the final, which we will get onto.

Arguably Giroud’s greatest moment in a Chelsea shirt. Winning the Europa League, and scoring against his old club in the final.

European competition is the pinnacle of football, and it was clear to see how much it meant to Giroud. He tried to show respect to his former club after scoring, but couldn’t hold in the emotion. The Frenchman was a vital part of the Chelsea team that won the competition.

He deserves to be remembered fondly by Chelsea fans.
