One from Three, Moura to China, and Alex Sandro Boost

One from Three

On Monday, Chelsea will find out who they will be playing in the next round of the Champions League. Following Tuesday’s draw with Atletico Madrid, the Blues finished in second place in their ground behind Roma, who were 1-0 winners against Qarabag. This means they will face one of the sides that finished in top spot. As Chelsea cannot face a fellow English side, this only leaves three possible opponents; PSG, Barcelona, or Besiktas. If Antonio Conte’s side are drawn to PSG, it will be the fourth time they have played the French side in the knock-out stages of the competition.

Moura to China

Chelsea have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of signing PSG winger Lucas Moura. The Brazilian has reportedly snubbed interest from the Premier League champions in favour of a move to China. Reports suggested the winger could join the Blues in the January transfer window, as Antonio Conte seeks to bolster his squad, or even as a potential replacement for Willian. However, the 25-year-old is set to make a big money move to Beijing Guoan. Moura would join fellow Brazilians Hulk, Oscar, and Alexandre Pato in China, should he make the move.

Alex Sandro Boost

Chelsea’s interest in Juventus defender Alex Sandro has been given a major boost after the Brazilian told the club he is unhappy. The Blues were linked with Sandro during the summer, but could not agree terms with the Italian side. Now the full-back is unhappy in Turin, Antonio Conte could make another move for 26-year-old in January. However, it would seem unlikely that Juventus would sell the Brazilian in January, so Chelsea will most likely have to wait until the summer to make their move. The Blues don’t have many options at left wing-back, with Marcos Alonso the only natural player. However, Davide Zappacosta did play there against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
