Only four Chelsea players present for first pre-season training on Friday

Tammy Abraham, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Tino Anjorin were the first three players present to return to Cobham training centre as Chelsea began their pre-season on Friday morning.

These three were first to report back for the pre-season, along with Thomas Tuchel and his coaching staff.

According to the club’s official website, Marcos Alonso later joined in with the gym and light ball work sessions in the afternoon.

A number of other players, including Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, and Edouard Mendy are expected to be back in the next few days.

While those who were involved and are still competing in the Euro 2020 will return at a later date.

As many as 17 Chelsea players took part in the competition, and five players could feature in Sunday’s final between England and Italy.

Thiago Silva, who is likely going to captain the Brazil team in the Copa America final later tonight (local time — Sunday, at 1 am in the UK), is obviously in a similar situation.
