'Over Rice': Some Chelsea fans desperate to sign 'future star' who Ben Chilwell rates

A sizeable section of Chelsea supporters on social media were elated by the most recent update involving Jude Bellingham.

Goal reported that the Blues have kept a close eye on Bellingham for a while and identify him as a future star to shine in South West London.

He recently became the youngest player ever to play at the European Championships for England.

The 17-year-old featured heavily during his debut season with Dortmund, enough to earn him the Bundesliga’s Best Newcomer award.

Members of Thomas Tuchel’s squad already rate him as well.

Shortly after Bellingham was called up to Gareth Southgate’s squad for the first time, Chelsea’s left back told talkSPORT (via the Express): “I’ve seen him play for Birmingham and obviously he’s been doing very well for Dortmund so thoroughly deserved and very, very happy for him.”

All this potential transfer talk got Blues fans very weak at the knees as they started to imagine Dortmund’s youngster sparkling at Stamford Bridge.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Bellingham is not the only BVB member that Chelsea are concentrating on.

According to the Sun, an audacious bid for Jadon Sancho was being lined up, but that plotline has since disintegrated.

One story that hasn’t disappeared is the epic, and expensive, car chase to hunt down Erling Haaland.

It could be a blockbuster summer for the Blues, with plenty of fireworks still to come.
