Assistant coaches Anthony Barry and Joe Edwards led Chelsea’s training session on Monday following Frank Lampard’s departure.
The players had to report for training at 2 pm, which is later than usual, as the club were preparing for the statement regarding Lampard’s sacking.
While Thomas Tuchel is reportedly set to be the next Chelsea manager (Sky Sports), the club have yet to make any statement so far.
Chelsea will have still to prepare for Wednesday’s Premier League clash against Wolves, though, despite the absence of a head coach figure.
With assistant manager Jody Morris, as well as fitness coach Chris Jones, reportedly leaving the club along with Lampard (Goal), Barry and Edwards have been in charge of the training sessions.
Thiago Silva who was rested in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Luton Town has also joined the training.
However, it remains unclear whether N’Golo Kante has recovered from his hamstring injury, having missed the last few games.
