Chelsea new signing Timo Werner has joined the rest of his teammates training at Cobham, along with manager Frank Lampard.

After a solo training session on his first day at Chelsea, the 24-year-old has now joined his teammates.

Chelsea are now preparing for the FA Cup final against Arsenal which will take place on Saturday, August 1 at Wembley.

Although Werner will not be eligible to play until the start of next season, having an extra training partner who is capable of scoring more than 30 goals a season would only benefit the team, wouldn’t it?

Interestingly, Lampard also joined the training session to lead the team, although perhaps the boss just wanted to test the new signing on the training pitch himself?

Another positive news is that N’Golo Kante who has missed Chelsea’s last six games was also among the players in training, suggesting he could be ready for the massive London derby at the weekend.

Speaking about meeting his new teammates in his interview at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Werner told Chelsea’s official website: “The first day is always a little bit crazy because you don’t know everybody so much.

“And not only the team, it is always a pleasure to meet those behind the team the first time and now I am very happy and excited to meet them.”

Of course, Werner has already had an old friend at Chelsea in Antonio Rudiger as the two played together at Stuttgart and still often share the dressing room at Germany national team.
