Former Blues Craig Burley has played down fears regarding Christian Pulisic limited game time as he believes Chelsea are not going to spend on Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho
It would be a nightmare for Pulisic if he would once again spend most of the season on the bench because of Jadon Sancho.
In his last season at Borussia Dortmund, Pulisic only started nine Bundesliga games (with 11 appearances from the bench), with Sancho’s emergence playing a major part.
Now that Sancho is heavily linked to a summer move to the Premier League, including Chelsea, it is understandable some people, especially those from the United States, wary about Pulisic’s future at Stamford Bridge.

The American winger has not exactly cemented his spot in the starting line-up under Lampard, mostly due to injuries.
But former Chelsea midfielder Burley thinks Chelsea are likely to splash the cash on a striker rather than a wide player.
He told ESPN: “They (Chelsea) are probably going to spend the majority of their budget on a striker.
“They are unlikely to spend on another wide playmaker because they already have a bunch, including Pulisic.”

Burley has had a point as Chelsea have already announced a summer transfer for Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech.
But it has to be kept in mind that Chelsea will likely lose two experience wingers Pedro Rodriguez and Willian.
The former Scotland international said Pulisic would face a similar competition (for a starting role) in any big club and the 21-year-old knew it already.
He added: “I think Pulisic will play a big part of Chelsea’s plans going forward.”
