Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek said the comeback win over Aston Villa has boosted the team confidence ahead of Manchester City match.
The Blues will host Manchester City tonight (8.15 BST) as they are looking to restore a wider gap to the chasing pack; particularly Manchester United and Wolverhampton.
As things stand, Chelsea have just two-point cushion to the fifth and sixth place and with tough fixtures ahead against the likes of Sheffield United, Liverpool and Wolves remaining, the standings could look very different at the end of the season.
The pressure, however, has not really affected Frank Lampard’s men, according to Loftus-Cheek.
He told Chelsea’s official website: “The mood in the dressing room is really good, really bubbly and excited for it, especially coming off the back of a win.
“We’re obviously coming up against a really good team, and they can pose a threat, but we can pose a threat as well.
“We’ve got a really good team.”
The England international is also confident about home ground advantage despite the match being played behind closed doors.
“They’re coming to our ground and even though our fans aren’t there, we are used to being at Stamford Bridge,” he said.
“Hopefully that has an impact. As a team we are looking to win, as always, and we’re really excited.”
