Tammy Abraham feels he should be earning more than his current rate at Chelsea amidst uncertainties over his future, according to Euro Sport.
Speculation over Abraham’s next movements kicked in after he was excluded from Chelsea’s Premier League squad entirely by Thomas Tuchel last Sunday.
Inquests about the 23-year-old’s destiny had already gathered good ground prior to this incident.
Chelsea’s heavy links to Erling Haaland put serious doubts over Abraham’s requirements at Stamford Bridge.
This latest omission impounded those concerns further.
But a move away may not satisfy his financial demands.
Euro Sport stated that Abraham thought he deserved a £40,000 increase on his current £80,000 per-week salary.
Callum Hudson-Odoi landed a similar deal back in 2019 and his fellow English teammate felt he earned the same kind of reward.
It is unlikely any club he turns to will want to meet these new demands.
West Ham United have reportedly shown interest (Daily Star) in Chelsea’s top scorer.
Southampton also cautiously enquired about his availability (Euro Sport).
However, if West Ham or the Saints were to meet the wage demands of Abraham, it would make him the highest earner at both clubs respectively.
If he is desperate for an escape route, he may have to lower his expectations.
