Report: Chelsea 21-year-old open to leaving on loan if he fails to impress Tuchel in pre-season

Conor Gallagher will reportedly consider heading out on loan again if his opportunities at Chelsea are thinned out.

According to, Gallagher is going to weigh up his options after he returns to Cobham for pre-season training.

The 21-year-old spent the previous campaign with West Bromwich Albion.

Although the Baggies faced instant relegation from the Premier League, the young midfielder managed to impress in a team of little quality.

He played 32 times and was named the University of Wolverhampton Young Player of the Year.

His next mission is to try and sway Thomas Tuchel that he belongs in Chelsea’s stellar squad.

Gallagher is of course not alone in his attempts to break back into the Blues set-up.

Names such as Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Marc Guehi and numerous others will have a similar thought process.

But Tuchel can only select so many before his group becomes too inflated.

That is when he must decide who to keep and who to send out on loan, or even sell.

There is likely to be a clammer of interested parties should Gallagher decide to depart Stamford Bridge for another term.

Crystal Palace are said to be observing him and Guehi, as they look to rebuild their team during a transitional period for the club.
