Report: Chelsea are now favourites to sign Jadon Sancho
After Borussia Dortmund signed Erling Braut Haaland on Sunday, questions were inevitably asked about Jadon Sancho’s future. The Daily Mail is reporting that the German club are now willing to listen to bids for the young English winger.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with Sancho since their transfer ban was overturned. The Telegraph has reported that the Blues are now favourites to land his signature because he is keen on a move back to London.
The 19-year-old grew up in South London and is reportedly keen on returning to the area. He is arguably the most sought after player in the world, and whichever club signs him will be signing a serious talent.
Despite some negative moments with the Dortmund management this season, Sancho has been in sublime form. He has scored nine goals and provided nine assists in just 15 league appearances. That is more than a goal contribution every game. This is particularly impressive considering his young age.
Most raw talents are questioned on their end product, but that is not a problem for Sancho. His numbers at Dortmund are already up there with the world’s best. If Chelsea were to secure his signature, it would be a serious statement of intent.
Sancho is particularly friendly with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham. Blues fans will be hoping that those connections will help the club in their pursuit of the wide man.
It seems that every European club is interested in the Dortmund star. Whoever brings him in is getting a generational talent who could change the path of any club in the next decade. He is just that good.
