Chelsea are reportedly on the verge of signing another exciting young prospect. According to French media outlet RMC Sport, the Blues are working on a deal to sign 17-year-old PSG midfielder Kays Ruiz-Atil.
The youngster’s relationship with the Ligue 1 champions has broken down and Lampard is keen to make his move for a promising talent. A fee would need to be agreed between the two clubs but Chelsea feel that they have the edge for one reason.
Claude Makelele. The former Blues midfielder was spotted in Paris watching the clubs 3-3 draw with Monaco. The purpose of his visit was to discuss a deal for the youngster and talks have reportedly taken place with representatives of the PSG midfielder.
Ruiz-Atil joined the French club from the Barcelona youth set-up but has not progressed through the ranks at PSG and is now keen on a move elsewhere.
Chelsea currently have an abundance of young midfielders coming through the ranks and the Moroccan would be in good company. The likes of Conor Gallagher, Billy Gilmour, and Tino Anjorin are all looking to break into the first-team in the coming years. The path Lampard has created into the first-team makes Stamford Bridge an exciting place to be for young talent.
The Blues manager has shown that young players at the club will be trusted if they prove their worth at the club or out on-loan elsewhere. Ruiz-Atil would be joining a club that is finally giving it’s young talent the chances they deserve.
