Chelsea target Jadon Sancho will reportedly not be leaving Borussia Dortmund this month. The 19-year-old has been the subject of huge transfer talk but now seems like he will remain at the German club until the end of the season at least.
Sky Sports have reported that Sancho’s suitors will have to wait to sign until at least the summer to sign the exciting youngster. Borussia Dortmund feel that they would not be able to find a suitable replacement for Sancho this month so they will not be letting him go.
Questions remain over the future of Sancho beyond January, with what seems like every top European club interested in his signature.
He has been in scintillating form for Dortmund this season. It is clear to see why so many clubs are after him. Sancho has scored 12 goals and produced 13 assists in just 24 games this season in all competitions and is on track for a record-breaking season.
Chelsea and Frank Lampard will no doubt be disappointed by this revelation and will have to re-evaluate their stance on the England international. The Blues have been linked with several wingers but may be better off saving funds to make a bid for Sancho in the summer.
Dortmund are likely to be more willing to let him go when they have longer to find a suitable replacement. The attacking capabilities he offers would take Chelsea to the next level. Sancho could be the poster boy for a new generation of world-class talent at the club.
