Report: Ousmane Dembele meets with Chelsea executives

Ousmane Dembele has had a difficult period in Barcelona since his move from Borussia Dortmund in 2017. He has struggled with a number of injuries and found it difficult to break into the Spanish side. It now seems he is looking to make a move elsewhere and has reportedly spoken to Chelsea.

Spanish publication El Desmarque is reporting that Ousmane Dembele has met with executives from a number of clubs in hope of securing an exit door from his nightmare in Barcelona.

The 22-year-old Frenchman has featured just five times for the Catalan giants in La Liga this season, scoring one goal. He has now suffered a third muscular injury of the season, and may not be available for 10 weeks.

At the age of 22, Dembele could still rescue his career with a fresh start. When Dembele has been fit and playing for Barcelona, his record is not too bad and proves his ability to make an impact at the top level.

In 74 games, he has scored 19 goals and provided 17 assists for his teammates. That is a goal contribution every 2 games. Considering these appearances have been heavily disrupted by injury and periods out of the side, it is not a bad record.

Chelsea have already been linked with a number of wide players. The Blues could be interested in Dembele if Barcelona are willing to let him go.
