UEFA has reportedly set the return date for the Champions League, including the round of 16 second leg game between Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

The football governing body is reportedly working on plans that would see the Champions League final take place on August 29.

The BBC said the idea is to finish the season as a whole at the end of August.

But the Sky Italia revealed the rest of the plans, claiming the second legs of Champions League’s round of 16 would take place on August 7 and 8.

The media outlet focused on Italian teams, Juventus and Napoli who would face Lyon and Barcelona respectively, but Spanish publication Sport expanded on this report and said Chelsea would face Bayern Munich on August 8.

Chelsea, however, have a mountain to climb after 3-0 defeat in the first leg at Stamford Bridge in February.

Serge Gnabry netted twice not long after the second half started while Lewandowski snuffed out any hopes Chelsea had for a comeback when he scored Bayern’s third goal.

Having witnessed several outrageous comebacks in the Champions League, especially in the past couple of years, it would be foolish to rule out Chelsea’s chance to qualify.

If Chelsea somehow pull an impossible, they would be in for a tough challenge of a game every three days.

These reported planned dates will still need to be validated depending on the global health condition and UEFA will meet with its 55 member federations on Tuesday, August 23.
