Returning Ramires
Ramires says he hopes to return to Chelsea before he hangs up his boots. The Brazilian left the club in 2016 to sign for Chinese side Jiangsu Suning after losing his place in Guus Hiddink’s side. Despite only leaving the club around two years ago, the 30-year-old isn’t giving hope of a reunion at Stamford Bridge.
“Chelsea? I’ll always have special affection for them and I want to play for them again before finishing my career.
“I know the doors of Stamford Bridge will always be open to me and that wearing their jersey again would be spectacular.”
Lampard Role
Chelsea are set to hand Frank Lampard a route into management – by giving him a coaching role at Stamford Bridge. Since retiring from football, Lampard has been studying for his UEFA A coaching licence, as well as punditry work. He was linked with managerial roles at Milton Keynes Dons and Oxford United, but the Blues are set to bring Lampard back to West London. Lampard has been involved in a number of coaching sessions with the Under-18s side, managed by former teammate Jody Morris. Owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly keen on bringing Lampard back to the club, with the possible aim of managing the club in the future. The club are also keen on future managers involving Lampard in their coaching set-up, with Antonio Conte’s departure in the summer looking increasingly likely.
Willian Extension
Willian has said he wants to remain at the club and extend his contract at Stamford Bridge. The Brazilian has been in excellent form in recent weeks, scoring in games against Barcelona and Manchester United. Despite being linked with a potential move to United, Willian is keen on remaining in West London.
“Staying here for many more years. Even if it is possible to renew contract. About this, we have not talked yet. It might happen.
“I’m adapted. I’m five years old at the end of the season, I’ve won titles. Anyway, I have the fans’ affection too. I intend to continue here until the end of my contract, to renew, to continue for more years.”
