Rice shares which Chelsea stars he'd love in his dream Blues and West Ham five-a-side team
Declan Rice selected N’Golo Kante as one of the players he’d put in his ideal combined Chelsea and West Ham United five-a-side line-up.
Speaking on the England YouTube channel, Rice and Mason Mount were asked to compile their dream quintet of stars from their respective clubs.
Both have a wide range of world-class individuals to choose from.
Especially Mount, who shares a dressing room with World Cup winners and Champions League victors.
WAYNE ROONEY TO EVERTON IS A JOKE.
Who makes the cut?
But it was Rice that made the first pick, opting for a man straight from Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
“My first two thoughts are to put me and Kante together to protect the goal,” said the Hammers midfielder.
“I was thinking you (Mount) in front.
He then pledged his West Ham allegiances by choosing one of David Moyes’ men.
“I’ve got an idea for a West Ham player. My forwards going to be (Michail) Antonio. Beast. Fast. Strong, scores goals.”
Mount chipped in with one of his Chelsea colleges, a teammate he faced very recently at the European Championships.
“We need a technical player playing off him (Antonio). It could be a Kai (Havertz).”
Despite the lack of a recognised goalkeeper, it’s certainly not a bad side to field.
Interestingly, Mount was previously asked to present his fantasy five-a-side of all time.
The 22-year-old went for players he’s shared a pitch with.
His answer was: “I’m going to go Ashley Cole. Then Harry Kane up top. Midfield, N’Golo Kante. Christian Pulisic. Then Grealo (Jack Grealish).”
Wonder who would win between Mount’s solo team or his partnership with Rice? We’d love to find out.
