Rudiger speaks about Willian's likely exit and compares him to Hazard
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger said the Blues are going to lose another Eden Hazard if Willian leaves the club at the end of his contract this summer.
The 31-year-old recently rejected Chelsea’s tw0-year contract offer as he wants a three-year deal instead, according to a report from the Guardian.
The report also added that Willian has begun talks with Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal over a free transfer move to the Emirates Stadium.
One of Willian’s Chelsea teammates, Rudiger, has opened up about the winger’s likely exit.
He told reporters (via the Express): “Since day one of coming to Chelsea, he and David Luiz got me into the team and helped me out in the first couple of months because it was not that easy.
“He is a great guy and a really, really good footballer. He is calm and humble and it will be sad if I don’t see him again as a teammate.”
The Germany international also compared Willian to former Chelsea ace Eden Hazard in terms of how they lead the team by example on the pitch.
“He is not the type of player who talks that much,” he added.
“He does his thing on the pitch, just like Eden Hazard. By playing, he shows what he is about.
“He is a guy who dictates the game and not many players in the world have this type of quality.”
