No Chelsea player made the last season’s PFA Premier League Team of The Year and some Blues fans were clearly unhappy with Mateo Kovacic’s exclusion.

The Professional Footballers’ Association announced their annual awards for the 2019/20 season tonight.

This has been a great night for the reigning WSL champions Chelsea Women side, after seven of them made the PFA Women’s Team of The Year.

Chelsea Women ace Bethany England has also been awarded the PFA Women Player of The Season.

While for the Men’s team, this would just be another Tuesday evening.

Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham made the shortlist for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, but the Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold beat the Chelsea pair to the award.

And not a single Chelsea player made the PFA Men’s Team of The Year as Liverpool dominated the list.

Although these eleven players were chosen by voting from fellow Premier League players, some Chelsea fans were unhappy, particularly since Kovacic was overlooked.

The Croatia international is clearly a popular figure at Stamford Bridge as he won the club’s fan-voted Player of The Season award.
