Spartak Mastermind

Antonio Conte was the mastermind behind Spartak Moscow’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Tuesday evening, according to the side’s manager Massimo Carrera. Chelsea boss Conte and Carrera worked together at Italian side Juventus, as well as the Italian national side. Before their Champions League fixture against Jurgen Klopp’s side, Conte told Carrera all about the Reds and how to get a result against them.

Musonda Talks

Talks are reportedly underway to reward Charly Musonda with a new contract to keep the Belgian at Stamford Bridge. The 20-year-old impressed on his first competitive start for the Blues, scoring in a 5-1 win over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup a few weeks ago. The likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, and Celtic have been rumoured to be keeping an eye on the player, and Chelsea will give Musonda a new contract to fend off the interest. His current deal ends in 2019, and the Blues will want to tie him down to a longer deal.

Favourites for Cavani

Chelsea are favourites to sign Edinson Cavani, should he leave PSG in the near future. Cavani’s future in the French capital has been put into doubt, following the world record signing of Neymar. Recently, the two players had a very public falling out over who should take set pieces, and the Parisian side reportedly offered Cavani around 1 million euros to allow Neymar to take over on penalty duties. With the Uruguayan’s future uncertain, the Blues have been made favourites to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Torres Advice

Fernando Torres has given words of wisdom to new Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, and believes his former side have signed one of the world’s best strikers.

“I spoke with him before he joined Chelsea and told him I would be always on the phone if he needed any advice or if I could help him,” Torres said.

Morata has made a great start to life in West London, scoring six goals in six Premier League games, as well as a lone goal in the Champions League.
