Tammy Abraham greeted Chelsea supporters on his social media about their return to stadiums and the task at hand for the campaign’s climax.
Abraham was absent again during the Blues FA Cup final defeat to Leicester City on Saturday.
The one thing that wasn’t absent from Chelsea’s performance was fans inside Wembley stadium.
It was the first-time followers of the club had witnessed Thomas Tuchel’s team in the flesh.
Unfortunately, they weren’t rewarded with a positive result, as Leicester claimed a 1-0 victory.
Chelsea have a chance to give their admirers something to cheer about tomorrow evening when they face the Foxes again at Stamford Bridge.
Taking to Instagram, Abraham addressed Tuesday’s massive Premier League tie, whilst also thanking those who witnessed their cup defeat in real life.
Posting about a game you didn’t even play in can’t have been easy for Abraham.
But that’s pretty much been the story of his season.
After a good start under Frank Lampard, the 23-year-old quickly fell out of favour with Tuchel.
His future with Chelsea remains in serious doubt; he hasn’t started a match in any competition since February.
With only three fixtures remaining of the domestic term, the chance of Abraham getting another look in seems slim.
After Leicester, the Blues travel to Aston Villa on the league’s last day.
Then they take on Manchester City in the Champions League’s main event in just under a fortnight.
There is every possibility that Chelsea could finish in the top four and win a European trophy.
The odds are exactly the same for them ending outside the top four and without a European trophy.
Tuchel cannot take any risks at this stage and potentially fielding Abraham feels like a gamble.
