Thiago Silva has joined in with Chelsea’s group training session ahead of Thursday’s clash with Liverpool, but Billy Gilmour seems unlikely to make the trip.
The 36-year-old have missed the last six games after picking up a muscle injury in the Tottenham win back in early February.
Hopefully, he will be available for the trip to Anfield, having taken part in the training session this morning.
Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma have performed really well in Silva’s absence but the Brazil international’s leadership will be a big boost for the Chelsea team.
Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham were also pictured at Cobham despite earlier injury concerns.
Abraham missed out on the matchday squad last against Man United last Sunday, while Hudson-Odoi suffered a small injury and had to be taken off at half-time.
Although, Billy Gilmour, who featured in the development squad’s 1-1 draw against Leicester City last night, was not pictured at Cobham.
It is unfortunate that the 19-year-old is now the fourth-choice centre-midfielder under Tuchel and had to get minutes on the pitch with the youth team.
As things stand, Chelsea are sitting fifth in the table, but only with a one-point gap to sixth-placed Liverpool.
In the reverse fixture in September, the Blues suffered a 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge as Christensen received a red card just before half-time.
Thursday might be a good opportunity for a revenge, considering Liverpool’s recent struggles.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have lost four of their last five league games, while Chelsea are still unbeaten under their new manager.
