Three key Lille players Chelsea must watch out for
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea team will need to be aware of the threat Lille poses in Tuesday’s crucial Champions League tie. Although the French outfit cannot qualify for the next stage of the competition, they will be keen to spoil the party. Here are three key Lille players Chelsea must watch out for.
Chelsea will already be aware of the threat that Osimhen poses after he scored the equalizer in the return fixture. The Nigerian is currently the joint-third top goalscorer in Ligue 1 and will be hoping to bag again on Tuesday night.
He has already scored twice in a Champions League campaign where Lille have managed just one point from five games and will fancy his chances of scoring against a Chelsea backline that seems short of confidence.
Yusuf Yazici is one of Lille’s most dangerous creative outlets. He has scored once and provided four assists for his teammates in nine league starts and will need to be carefully monitored by Lampard’s Chelsea team.
At just 22-years-old, Yazici is not a sure starter, but if he does play he is likely to operate in an attacking midfield role. Formerly of Trabzonspor, he will look to pick the ball up between the Chelsea midfield defense and create chances for the likes of Osimhen.
A familiar name for Chelsea fans. Loic Remy is now at Lille. Now 32-years-old, Remy may look to make an impact from the bench. However, Blues fans are well aware of the threat Remy poses. He has a killer instinct in front of goal and is likely to take a chance if presented with one.
Remy has scored three goals in Ligue 1 this season, despite only starting four times. Chelsea will need to watch out for the former Blue if he features on Tuesday night.
