Vidal Links, Tarkowski Targeted, and Seri Asking Price
Recent reports have linked Chelsea with a move for Arturo Vidal. The Chilean international has 18 months left on his contract, and Antonio Conte is said to be keen on bringing the midfielder to Stamford Bridge. When asked about the possibility of signing his former player, the Italian said:
“Arturo is a fantastic player.
“I have great respect for Arturo, and we spent many years in Juventus together.
“I said if I have to go to war, I will go with him.”
Another player that is being linked with a move to Chelsea in the January transfer window is Burnley defender James Tarkowski. The Blues are reportedly keen to bolster their defensive options next month, and the Burnley player is one of many options being considered by the club. Tarkowksi has been highly impressive this season, playing a vital role in Burnley’s season as they currently sit in seventh place. Arsenal are also said to be interested in the 26-year-old.
Seri Asking Price
Chelsea have been told how much to pay for Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri; £20 million. The French club were reportedly looking for a fee of around £30 million in the summer, but have now lowered their asking price in an attempt to attract interest in the player. The Ivorian is reportedly being targeted by a number of clubs across Europe including the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Barcelona.
Zaha Could Leave
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has admitted that the club would find it difficult to turn down offers from Chelsea or Manchester City for winger Wilfried Zaha. He has been a key player for Palace this season, as he has helped the club turn their poor start to the season around. Hodgson said:
“If Wilf continues as he is doing, then the club will be faced with a situation where someone wants to put a lot of money on the table in order to prise him away,
“That will be a massive decision for the club because I know how much everyone at Crystal Palace appreciates him and he is the last person we want to lose.
“It is no good making bold statements that this and that won’t happen because things do happen and when they do, you deal with them.”
