Video: Chelsea teammates poke fun at 'masked' Rudiger in training ahead of Real Madrid clash

Antonio Rudiger trained with a protective mask on as Chelsea prepare for the Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid — and a couple of his teammates clearly found it hilarious.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Mateo Kovacic will be the only absentee for the second leg despite Rudiger’s picking up facial bone injury in the first leg.

Tuchel also added that the defender has had a couple of days, since Saturday, to get used to wearing a protective mask in training sessions.

Although, apparently Kurt Zouma and Hakim Ziyech could not help laughing when they arrived at the training ground, as you can see in the video below.

Several key players, including Christian Pulisic, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante, who were rested in the derby win over Fulham on Saturday were also present in Tuesday’s training sessions, led by Tuchel himself.

Meanwhile, the travelling Real Madrid squad arrived in London this afternoon.

Sergio Ramos and Ferland Mendy are in the squad as expected, along with Federico Valverde who tested negative in his latest Covid-19 tests.
