Christian Pulisic has this week issued a rallying cry to his teammates to ‘turn it around’ against Aston Villa on Wednesday night. The American is feeling positive ahead of the game and is keen for the Blues to get back to their best.

After three games without a win, Chelsea has come under some criticism. It will be vital that Lampard’s young squad gets back on the winning trail to prevent confidence in the team dropping.

When speaking on the club website, Pulisic remained optimistic, saying: ”There are ups and downs we have had a few months now where people have said how well we’ve done and everything’s been going great. I wish it would stay like that the whole year but that’s not the case.

‘’Now we’ve had a couple of tougher results and we just have to try to turn it around. Tough times are a test of character. Luckily we have another game midweek and we have a chance to redeem ourselves.”

The home form is a particular issue for Chelsea this season. After 11 games at Stamford Bridge, the Blues have won just four times and will be keen to make it five when Aston Villa visit on Wednesday.

When asked about the home form, Pulisic added: ”We want to do much better at home. We come out with the same energy wherever we play. Our away form has been great this season but at times it’s been tougher at home. It’s hard to explain, it’s a bit strange, but we want to turn it around in front of our fans on Wednesday.”

Chelsea will be hoping to get back to winning ways on Wednesday against an Aston Villa side who will be buoyed by their 2-2 draw with Manchester United at the weekend.
