Chelsea loaned out Conor Gallagher this season to give him the chance of playing top-flight football, something he achieved on Monday night by making his Premier League debut.
The 20-year-old is a highly-rated youngster to come through the Blues academy system and he moved to the Hawthorns during the transfer window.
Gallagher started and completed 90 minutes on Monday during West Brom’s 0-0 draw at home to Burnley in the league fixture, which incidentally was only his side’s second point of the season.
The central midfielder slotted straight into Slaven Bilic’s XI, where he provided serious energy with his non-stop running and he showed some composure on the ball as well with forward passes.
Chelsea already have Ross Barkley out on loan at Aston Villa finding some dazzling form and it looks like Gallagher could have a similar impact on his new club.
Gallagher has taken giant strides forward in his game during the past year after impressing in the Championship with loan spells at Charlton Athletic and then Swansea City, as a result he’s now been given a Premier League chance.
It certainly looks like further down the line he’s a talented all-action midfielder that could break into the first-team fold at Stamford Bridge and he should see Mason Mount as a perfect example.
A selection of West Brom supporters on Twitter were extremely positive about Gallagher’s displays on his Premier League debut and feel he’s going to be important moving forward for them.
