Chelsea fans presumably can’t wait to see Mauricio Pochettino officially begin work at Stamford Bridge after yet another defeat under Frank Lampard on Thursday.
The Argentine has agreed terms with the Blues over a move to west London, although Chelsea have not announced his arrival just yet.
However – thanks to The Athletic – we have been given some insight regarding what Mauricio Pochettino is doing in the meantime.
What’s the story?
Well – despite the fact he is yet to officially arrive at Stamford Bridge – Pochettino is already said to be hard at work preparing for what is set to be a very busy summer.
The Athletic believe the South American is already discussing ideas, transfer targets and player sales with club staff as he aims to make a success of his return to the Premier League.

An exact timeframe on Pochettino’s arrival has not yet been provided, although The Athletic add that he will officially begin his duties “soon” – for what it’s worth.
What Pochettino could do at Chelsea
By the sounds of it, the 51-year-old already has some idea of who he wants to bring with him to Chelsea, and who he wouldn’t mind Todd Boehly selling.
The Evening Standard believe Pochettino has told Conor Gallagher he would like to keep him at Stamford Bridge, while 90min add that the Murphy-born tactician has also told Chelsea he would love to sign Declan Rice.
Mateo Kovacic and Edouard Mendy also expect to be sold – according to that same story from the Evening Standard – and that looks set to happen regardless of Pochettino’s input.
The old Tottenham boss is also unlikely to be working with Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in west London, as Fabrizio Romano told Give Me Sport that the duo are definitely leaving.
There is plenty for Pochettino to do this summer with Chelsea in need of major squad surgery, so it is pleasing to hear that he is already getting stuck into his work at Stamford Bridge.
