Willian Rivals
Barcelona are set to rival Manchester United over the signing of Chelsea winger Willian, according to reports. The Spanish side are set to register an interest for the Brazilian in the January transfer window, as a move for Liverpool’s Phillipe Coutinho looks unlikely. Willian has struggled for first team football so far this season, but did start Chelsea’s Premier League tie against Swansea City on Wednesday night. His lack of football has interested Manchester United, with former boss Jose Mourinho keen to bring him to Old Trafford. Chelsea will be hoping a bidding war will commence for their player in the next transfer window.
Tuchel Eyed
Former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel is being eyed as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte, according to reports. The 44-year-old left Dortmund at the end of last season, and is yet to find another managerial role. Tuchel was heavily linked with the Bayern Munich job after Carlo Ancelotti was sacked, but the Bundesliga champions went for Jupp Heynckes instead. Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge is unclear, with many reports suggest the Italian is set to leave the club at the end of the season. Should the Italian leave Chelsea, the board have already got one target in mind with Tuchel.
Entering Ozil Race
Chelsea have entered the race to sign Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil, reports in Germany have said. The 29-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and is yet to sign a new deal at the Emirates. Reports suggest that the German is keen to stay in the Premier League, with Manchester United reportedly interested. Chelsea have now entered the race, with the Blues one of a few clubs that could match Ozil’s wages. Barcelona are also rumoured to be interested in signing the German, and could approach him on a pre-contract deal in January.
