Chelsea supporters will of course hope that Eden Hazard finishes his career at Stamford Bridge and his form so far this season surely makes him one of the world’s elite players.
But the Blues are reportedly preparing possible replacement in case he is snapped away by Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid.
According to the Express, Watford’s Roberto Pereyra is top of the list of players that could replace Hazard if he exited West London.
If the worst should happen and Hazard did leave Chelsea then the recruitment would have to be spot on to fill such a huge void.
Pereyra is an interest potential target that’s in brilliant form so far this season for Watford.
The left-winger has already scored five Premier League goals this campaign and is part of a team that are one of the division’s surprise packages so far.
He is renowned for his brilliant trickery and dribbling, albeit he’s in the bracket below Hazard when it comes to that.
The Argentina international has lit up Vicarage Road during his time with Watford and has shown he can make an impact in the Premier League.
But a concern for Chelsea may be that the 27-year-old previously had a failed spell in Italy with Juventus, where he was unable to show his true quality.
Pereyra is a creative playmaker that is effective drifting in from wide areas and is certainly somebody that could be worth casting a greater eye over ahead of a potential swoop.
But whether he’s good enough to try fill Hazard’s shoes is a different ask all together.
