With so much talent in the current Chelsea group, special combinations all over the pitch are developing.

For instance, a midfield pivot of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho is one that has proven it can be formidable. Also, using Reece James as a wing-back in front of centre-back Blues captain Cesar Azpilicueta has a great balance to it.

However, there may be a new partnership to watch out for.

Romelu Lukaku’s arrival this summer looks really exciting for the Blues squad, especially for the attackers that will be hoping to link up with the Belgian centre-forward on the pitch.

One man that on paper could strike up a dangerous relationship with Lukaku is Hakim Ziyech. There is every chance the duo could set alight Stamford Bridge once they play together.

Ziyech and Lukaku can scare opponents

First of all, it’s worth pointing out that fans may have to wait to see the two play in the same XI for a little while longer.

The shoulder injury that Hakim Ziyech injury sustained in the Uefa Super Cup final victory saw him miss the Premier League opener. Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is hopeful he can return within a couple of weeks though, as quoted by Football London.

Meanwhile, Lukaku will need to integrate into the first-team group. Fingers crossed he can make a second debut for the club against Arsenal this weekend. It’s a very different bunch of players compared to the Chelsea squad in 2014 when he departed the Bridge.

Also, you have got to consider there is so much talent in the squad that the duo are competing with the likes of Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi for a starting role.

Ziyech, 28, looked great over the summer before his injury setback. Therefore, everyone should be optimistic he can rediscover his Ajax form.

The attacking playmaker is brilliant drifting in from the right to his left foot, but supporters haven’t seen him near his best. His return of six goals and four assists last season in all competitions was slightly underwhelming.

But, he’s now going to have a proper focal point in Lukaku to work with.

Ziyech was brilliant as an assist machine at Ajax when the Dutch side play a central striker, whether that be the likes of Dusan Tadic or Kasper Dolberg.

The Moroccan should thrive off someone with Lukaku’s intelligence if they get on the same wavelength. Lukaku’s got the world-class movement and natural striker’s instinct around the penalty box that should feed into Ziyech hands.

It’s a really exciting pairing for Chelsea fans to watch out for.
