Chelsea fans feel Christian Pulisic should have started FA Cup final defeat against Leicester

Chelsea were beaten in the FA Cup final against Leicester City on Saturday – and some Blues fans on Twitter claim with hindsight that attacker Christian Pulisic should have started.

Thomas Tuchel’s side were beaten 1-0 at Wembley Stadium by Leicester, with Youri Tielemans scoring the winning goal in the 63rd minute with a long-range effort into the top corner.

It looked like the Blues had sent the game to extra time when Wes Morgan netted an own goal, but it was chalked off for the finest or margins by VAR on Ben Chilwell.

Chilwell and Mason Mount both went close to scoring themselves for Chelsea in the closing stages, but unfortunately the team left it too late to really get going in the second period.

After defeat in the domestic cup final, attention needs to quickly turn to the Premier League top four race, before the Champions League final against Manchester City.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media made it clear post-match that they believe Tuchel should have started Pulisic.

Pulisic, 22, was left out of the starting XI in the cup final, but did at least inject an extra spark to a lacklustre performance from his side with a cameo display.

The £158,000-a-week (Spotrac) winger was unable to ultimately get the Blues back into the match, and it’s worth noting that Tuchel does have some tough decisions to make each game with the amount of options at his disposal in the squad.

Here are some Blues fans discussing Pulisic’s omission:
