Frank Lampard has confirmed that N’Golo Kante and Willian will be available for tomorrow’s FA Cup final against Arsenal, but he ruled out Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The France international’s return to the team will be a massive boost, particularly considering Lampard relied on him in the defensive midfield role in the first five games after the Premier League restart.
Aside from the win over Wolves in the final game of the Premier League season, Willian has featured in all Chelsea’s games since the restart, suggesting how the manager values him at the moment.
“We will have to see whether they [Willian and Kante] will be in the starting XI, but they are in the squad,” Lampard added (via Chelsea’s 5th stand app).
“Ruben Loftus-Cheek has got a small problem he picked up yesterday, so he’s out of the game.”
Asked about team selection, the choice between two goalkeepers Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero, in particular, Lampard admitted that it will be a tough decision, although he did not rule out making changes.
“There will be difficult decisions to make tomorrow because we have competition in the squad,” the Chelsea boss added.
“I have changed it at times throughout the season, as we consider the games we had as we go and assess whether we can win a game.
“For a Cup final, of course, it becomes even more difficult because I know how much players want to play in these games.”
