‘Fantastic’: Chelsea fans blown away by 22-year-old’s cup final highlight reel

Chelsea’s Kai Havertz got the nod again yesterday to start in the League Cup final defeat to Liverpool – and some Blues fans on Twitter have been left amazed by a highlight reel of his performance.

Chelsea suffered heartache in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final by eventually losing on penalties to Liverpool at Wembley Stadium.

It ended goalless after 120 minutes of football after an action-packed final with so many goalscoring incidents.

Thomas Tuchel’s Blues side fell just short of winning another trophy this season, but there was so much to love about the display.

Chelsea fans seeing the real Havertz

Havertz, who started in the centre-forward role again, put in yet another brilliant contribution to build on his recent form.

The 22-year-old attacker made it extremely difficult for the Liverpool backline throughout with his movement, strength and work rate.

He had the ball in the back of the net twice at Wembley, both ruled out for offside in the build up, and scored his spot-kick during the penalty shoot-out. Also, some of his link up play, particularly with teammate Mason Mount, showed how great his footballing brain is.

The Germany international is looking a real menace when filling into the number nine role, but was equally as effective later on when dropping into a more creative role to allow room for Romelu Lukaku on the pitch.

For certain, Havertz belongs in the best XI every game when he’s in this kind of form.

A highlight reel has emerged on Twitter of the forward’s individual performance yesterday at Wembley.

Some Chelsea fans on social media are blown away by Havertz’s latest masterclass, something which he seems to save for the big occasion.
