'Has to start': Some Chelsea fans urge Tuchel to give 17-year-old a PL debut tomorrow vs Spurs

Chelsea face Tottenham tomorrow in a pivotal Premier League match – and some Blues fans on Twitter are boldly claiming Lewis Hall should be promoted into the starting line-up.

Chelsea host Spurs on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, which is the third meeting between the London rivals this month.

Thomas Tuchel’s Blues beat Spurs in both legs of their Carabao Cup semi-final, so must have a big psychological edge going into the weekend fixture.

However, Chelsea’s league form of one win in their previous seven matches is concerning. In contrast, Spurs have won six of their last eight league matches to get themselves firmly in the race for the top four.

Chelsea fans suggest Hall at LWB

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media believe that academy graduate Hall should come into tomorrow’s starting XI.

Aged 17, he made his senior debut for the Blues in January’s 5-1 FA Cup win against Chesterfield.

It’s his only first-team appearance to date, but fans have seen enough to believe he can do a job in place of Marcos Alonso at left wing-back on Sunday.

He’s a central midfielder by trade who’s shown versatility to slot in as either a wing-back or centre-back.

The left-footer looked extremely composed in his FA Cup outing, earning big praise from Callum Hudson-Odoi for his individual performance.

However, tomorrow’s a must-win fixture and it would be huge pressure on any youngster’s Premier League debut.

It may be somewhat of a surprise if he’s thrown into the deep end, but it goes to show how highly rated the teenager already is within the club’s fanbase.

Here are some Chelsea fans discussing Hall:
