'Joke of the century': Chelsea fans left stunned by rumour about their £58m man
Some Chelsea fans on social media were bemused by Genoa’s reported transfer plans to sign Christian Pulisic following the managerial appointment of Andriy Shevchenko.
Earlier, Italian publication Il Secolo XIX claims that Genoa’s American owners are ready to invest in the transfer market after recently appointing Shevchenko as the new manager.
The report mentioned two Premier League players as their potential targets; Pulisic and Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko.
It is safe to say that some Chelsea fans on Twitter found the report surprising, even hilarious.

Chelsea boss Tuchel hopes Pulisic can regain match fitness with USMNT
Bear in mind, Tuchel seems to consider Pulisic, who joined Chelsea in 2019 for a reported fee of £58million (BBC), an important member of the Chelsea squad.
Recently, the manager even warned the US national team to pay extra attention to the winger’s recent injury situation during the international break.
“The guys who are returning from injury, we would like to take care of them, the German told Chelsea’s official website.
“But sometimes it is like this and if they can go away with their nations and get some minutes, then maybe this is good.
“This is definitely the case with players such as N’Golo [Kante] and Christian.
“Hopefully they will get the minutes to elevate them onto a higher level when they come back.
“It’s a careful balance because while we hope that happens, we are also hoping that they do not get injured.
“Not just for N’Golo and Christian, but all our international players. We have no control over it so yes, I’m always a little frightened of players going away.”
