Chelsea beat Watford by a one-goal margin on Wednesday night at Vicarage Road – and some Blues fans on Twitter were left raving about the performance of their attacker Kai Havertz.

Thomas Tuchel’s side battled hard to earn three away points in the Premier League on their trip across London to face Watford.

In fairness, Chelsea were a long way off the high standards they’ve set in 2021. However, they showed a superb mentality to leave with another victory.

Mason Mount’s goal on the stroke of the half hour mark came against the run of play to give the Blues a lead, as he converted a clever pass from Havertz in the box. Watford’s Emmanuel Bonaventure equalised just before half time, though.

Tuchel’s side looked much more switched on in the second period, with substitute Hakim Ziyech scoring the eventual winner in the 72nd minute. He hit a smart first-time finish after a cross from teammate Mount.

Chelsea fans hail Havertz

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media believe that Havertz was one of their outstanding individuals in midweek.

The 22-year-old forward battled hard by himself at times against Watford, with the hosts aggressive and on the front foot.

He showed in the second half the kind of finesse and skill he’s got to get his side more involved as an attacking force. Also, the attacker saw a well-taken goal ruled out for offside.
