Christian Pulisic appears to be starting in an attacking position in tonight’s game against Watford – and some Blues fans on Twitter are excited by the news.

The Blues have announced their starting line-up for Wednesday night’s trip to Watford in the Premier League.

Pulisic, 23, is one of six players to come into the starting XI tonight.

In addition, Andreas Christensen, Saul Niguez, Mason Mount, Cesar Azpilicueta and Kai Havertz are all recalled after the 1-1 draw to Manchester United.

Chelsea fans excited by Pulisic

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media are over the moon that Pulisic may get a chance in his favoured position in midweek.

The American attacker appears to be starting as the left-winger, with manager Thomas Tuchel opting to rotate his very strong squad.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has done an excellent job recently in the role, but tonight is an opportunity for Pulisic to show his talent.

It’s been a tough individual campaign for injury-hit star Pulisic, so it’s a massive chance against Watford to show he’s back for good.

Here are some Blues fans discussing Pulisic’s role:

Head-to-head record

Chelsea boast a dominant record over London rivals Watford in recent encounters.

The Blues have won seven of the previous eight Premier League meetings between them, scoring 20 goals and conceding 12 times.

There was an infamous 4-1 defeat to Watford back in February 2018 when Tiemoue Bakayoko was sent off, but history results are generally in Chelsea’s favour.
