'Perfect for Tuchel': Some Chelsea fans really want Abramovich to green light deal for £51k-a-week player

Chelsea are reportedly interested in trying to sign Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana – and some Blues fans on Twitter want their owner Roman Abramovich to give the green light on a transfer swoop.

Foot Mercato claims that Chelsea are targeting Fofana from their Premier League rivals Leicester. Incidentally, Thomas Tuchel’s side travel to the King Power Stadium this weekend to face the Foxes in the league.

It is explained that Leicester’s young centre-back could cost as much as £78million to prize away, and they’ve been extremely shrewd negotiators in recent transfer windows. 

The report states Chelsea have already been in discussions with Fofana, albeit Manchester United are also keen on his signature. 

Fofana, 20, was outstanding last season in the Leicester first team and settled extremely quickly to life in Premier League football.

The £51,000-a-week Frenchman is a rapid centre-half with great recovery speed, as well as real authority for someone his age. 

Unfortunately, he’s not played yet this season through injury.

Some Chelsea fans give resounding thumbs up

A selection of Blues supporters on social media are convinced reported target Fofana is ideal for them, with one even suggesting he’s “perfect” for the club’s manager Thomas Tuchel. 

The youngster has previous of playing in a back-three formation, something that Tuchel has found great success using at Stamford Bridge. 

N’Golo Kante, Ben Chilwell and Danny Drinkwater are three players sold by Leicester to Chelsea in recent years. In fairness, the first two names have worked out superbly. Kante is an “extraordinary” midfielder, while left-back Chilwell is in the “form of his life”.
